This is the first in a series of posts on Davis history exhibits in public locations in Davis.
The walls of the stairway to the second floor of the Davis Ace housewares building at 240 G Street are covered with a rather complicated set of photographs, other graphics, and framed artifacts related to the history of what used to be called “Davis Lumber.”
The photos numbered 1 through 4 show the exhibit as one moves up the stairs and turns to the right moving further up into the second floor. By a rough count, there are some 75 items.
As can be seen, many of the images show early Davis Lumber buildings and scenes, but others involve the homes of members of the Anderson family and even Davis history more generally, as seen in image 5.
