Jerry Brown Speaks in Davis Central Park, Fall, 1978 (196)

As part of his campaign for reelection as Governor in 1978, Jerry Brown brought a busload of the highest profile Democratic Party officials to Davis’ Central Park. Those seen here include, from left to right, Grey Davis, the governor himself (who is speaking), Senator Alan Cranston, and Congressman Vic Fazio. (Close inspection reveals an amazingly complete assembly of top California Democratic party public officials of the time.)

Relegated to the second row are the then-members of the Davis City Council, who include, from the left, Tom Tomasi, Richard Farrell, Sandy Motely, and Bob Black (in the red shirt).
